Tending the Weed In My Garden | Episode 2 | Anger

Kris Pace : Teaching Pastor

But the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you.

Matthew 15:8

For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander.

Matthew 15:19

The Inside stuff - - If left unmonitored

Will eventually make its way out -

It will hurt us and the people we love

Anger

I’m not angry - -

I’m just frustrated

Whether you shout it out OR shove it down,

Anger injures

Righteous Indignation / Be angry and sin not

When anger is righteous…

  • It’s not about defending you—it’s about standing up for what’s right
  • It earns respect from those who are watching how you respond
  • And most importantly, it points people toward God, not away from Him – it’s constructive

Who is wise and understanding among you?

Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done

in the humility that comes from wisdom.

James 3:13

But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

James 3:14

For where you have envy and selfish ambition,

there you find disorder and every evil practice.

James 3:16

(What’s inside of you will eventually come out)

What causes fights and quarrels among you?

Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you?

James 4:1

You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and

fight.

James 4:2

The source isn’t out there.

We aren’t getting what we want.

We need to own our slice of the pie.

"Before I go off or close off,

I need to figure out what's off -

I'm not getting what I want.”

“You know what part of the problem is,

don’t you?

_____________

I’m not getting what I want!”
